My homie whom I trust and believe was going through a religion/spirtual phase which we all do as youth trying to find out path.
He felt the way of the black muslim wasnt fulfilling after a traumatic experience, and went the way of the body of christ (not a church)
Well studied brother.
Said he went to not a church with a open mind.
Said a feeling came over him, started speaking 'in toungues' and was looking all geeked out..like WTF!
He believes in the power of the holy spirit, when years prior we would bash the origins of the wholy trinity, etc.
In spite of all the fact based teaching we where taught, read and built on..
He was saying that catching the spirit was the only real connection he felt to "The Lord".
I asked him could that all been in your head, he said yep, but he doubts it..

Its hilarious hearing fools try to legitimize speaking in tongues.I tried explaining “talking in tongues” to a breh and I realized that saying that in 2019 sounds crazy
I always tell them that "god" gave the evangelist the gift of tongues, which in poetic language meant the ability to learn different languages and spread the gospel. Evangel literally means good messenger, and you cannot communicate with people speaking fuxing gibberish...you have to live amongst them and learn their tongue to deliver the news. The evangel-ist delivers the Gospel to the nations. The evangelist (e.g. priests and priestly brotherhoods) would take up missions and they would learn and speak in the tongues of folks they encountered on their missions. Nobody was running round talm bout:

Only a stupid human or an incredibly credulous one would believe otherwise.

When I was younger, there was a ms. Jenkins in my church. She was always known for wildin out wit the holy ghost in another level 
One day I still remember and will never forget though, is when she was holding her grandkid. She started calm standing up just rockin back and forth, then all of a sudden she drops the fukkin baby
That audible thud was hilarious! To me anyway
I was the only one laughing in that whole building and got that open smack that had me like
Yo when I tell you the whole church fell silent
her son was PISSED 
We eventually grew up and got a little bit older, but that kid that got dropped didn't seem quite all there later on in life though

it's a spiritual practice carried over from vodun/ifa by our enslaved African ancestors. instead of being indwelled by an orisha, now you're being indwelled by the Holy Ghost. and the practice to attract either one is the same - trance-like music, chanting, hypnotism, etc...

My cousin cheated on his wife and she changed the locks on the doors, so he had to stay with us. About 2 weeks after staying with us, he went to her church(he never went to church) and faked the holy ghost. After service, he comes over, backs his car into the driveway, pops the trunk, hops out and says "I'm just here to pick up my clothes, cuzzo
