Is cheating the worst thing in a relationship?

Suppose you have a couple that has been together for a long time.
And suppose they have children.

And one person in the relationship slips up and sleeps with someone else.

Is that act of infidelity worth breaking up a family?

But is more damage done by infidelity, or taking away one's parent?

Infidelity. Cause if she cheats on you and you forgive her for it, there's a chance she'd do it again and turns around and serving you the papers instead. Not to mention the dynamic changes and kids aren't stupid, they can tell something's up. The lack of respect for you will become more and more apparent to the point where the kids might follow suit. So I'd rather be the father that kept his distance than be the father that got the boot from his own family.

I don't think cheating is the worst thing. I'm sure it hurts to the core but there should be other things worse. If someone told the other they were only with them cause they were the choice after the last choice and they say immediately afterwards happy anniversary..... that would be worse.

What's worst is carrying on a whole different relationship. Like, going to somebody else house, chilling with them, going out to eat, actually having feelings for another person. That's considerably worst than sex imo

Exactly. Plus some people act like men aren't having affairs and wind up running away with their girlfriend to have an exclusive relationship with the ones they cheated with. I can think of several men off the top of my head who married the women they cheated with.
