Is Chrono Trigger too dated to play for the first time in 2016?

:ehh:
FF developers live in a bubble. They think convuluted story and graphics define FF. Classic FF and Chrono Trigger are relatively simple games story wise but create worlds u get immersed into. Plus turn based combat is strategic and even with the time function in CT and ff4 onward the battle system is chill, which lends itself to enjoying ur experience.

Sad thing is u look at FFXV threads and brehs are stanning over graphics and the removal of turn based combat into frantic real time basic action game nonsense. since the OG creator dipped all FF games have been absolute trash.
I used to love turn based square games when I was younger, now I hate turn based shyt. Dunno what changed, but it did for me. I'm glad FF is realtime now :yeshrug:

But yeah, FF has been trash for a while. I'm mildly excited for the new one, but I don't have high expectations.

Well, you can't judge a game that's not out yet on anything else other than what it looks like and it looks good. The combat system looks amazing and I honestly think if Chrono Trigger was rebooted for modern times, it'd probably have a similar gameplay system to FFXV. The combat was already dynamic on the SNES.

Its more than just that. I preordered 12. That game had a very bland world, just felt lame overall. I bought into the hype again with xiii, preordered, and that game was the worse than when I got Sonic Spinball for christmas. If I am to be fooled 3 times in a row, that would make me some sort of retard

idk. Each FF game is different from the last so it's not like you can know what to expect. It'd be hard to know what's going to happen.

FF12 felt lame? :guwop::djquik: I'm waiting for that damn PC HD release.

For me the world wasnt really memorable and your main character was just there. Combine that with the weird limit break system, and taking forever to level up...game felt like a chore. I know theres people who like 12, so it is what it is, just wasnt for me.

Nah turn based combat is cool but ff13 combat system shyts all over the previous ones.

13 played itself and you couldn't freely change classes and party composition til like chapter 10 of 13. Battle system is brain dead for a good 20 hours

its fair to say that the game took too long to let you utilize the full battle system. but the combat system in its final form is way better than any previous FF, possibly one of the GOAT

The battle system in 13 was TRASH :what:

I would have rather had the FF12 battle system (which was actually fun).

And its also NEVER too late to play a SNES Square RPG...any of them...
