yeah, give pop the teams Phil had he would probably have 13 rings

LOL @ Pop tryna talk to Shaq, Kobe, or Jordan the way he does Parker or Duncan. And if he gets so mad off of Manu's shot selection imagine him dealing with Kobe.

Popp has never had a team as close as great as some of the teams Phil had..

I wonder why that is. :lupe:

Only on the internet can people say a guy who won four rings is better than a guy who won 11. :yao:

Are we also gonna ignore Phil's teams being 4-1 against Pop's in the playoffs?

Pops teams underachieved more in the PS. Look at both their records with Home court advantage the only time I can really say phil lost when he was supposed to win was the 2011 Second round vs the Mavs

It may not be fair, but I wanna see pop coaching another team or at least make a big change on his rosters before I call him the greatest. I just wanna see in a different scenario.

GOTTA SAY NO...
I fukkS WITH THE SPURS,
AND AFTER THE 2005 TITLE I WAS TELLING nikkaS HOW THE SPURS SHOULD WIN AT LEAST 4 MORE TITLES BY 2012.

DUNCAN WAS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE L,
PARKER & GINOBLI WERE ALL STAR CALIBER PLAYERS FINISHING THEIR 3RD & 4TH SEASONS.
I THOUGHT THAT EVEN WHEN DUNCAN BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN THOSE 2 WOULD CARRY THE LOAD,
AND KEEP STACKING UP CHIPS...

ALL OF A SUDDEN LAL GETS PAU GASOL AND THE BALANCE OF POWER SHIFTS...
THEY LOSE IN 5 TO LAL,
GET BOUNCED IN THE 1ST ROUND...
:what:GET SWEPT BY THE SUNS
LOSE IN THE 1ST ROUND AS THE 1 SEED...
:aicmon:WIN 20 GAMES IN A ROW THEN LOSE 4 STRAIGHT TO OKC.

I WAS GONNA MAKE A THREAD shytTING ON POP HAD THE SPURS UNDERACHIEVED THIS YEAR.

TURNS OUT POP IS ONLY AS GOOD AS TIM DUNCAN...
AS SOON AS DUNCAN SLOWED DOWN THEY FELL OFF...

DUNCAN GOT BACK ON HIS shyt,
AND LIKE MAGIC THE SPURS ARE BACK IN THE FINALS.

Fell off? When did the Spurs ever fall off? Winning 50 games every single season and being a title contender every year is falling off? Falling off is what happened to the Bulls post 1998

Only reason the Spurs weren't able to get back to the Finals during the 07-12 seasons cause the roster was old as shyt and management fukked up by bringing in Richard Jefferson.

As soon as Timmy got healthy and the front office added more youth we got back in the Finals. If anything Popovich overachieved with his teams

They lost straight up fair and square to better teams to the Suns, Lakers, and OKC, but you act like they didn't have key injuries in this two 1st round L's. Ginobili didn't play in the series against the Mavs. Ginobili missed game 1 against the Grizz and played the rest of the series with a broken arm, and Duncan knee was bone-to-bone and he had a sprained ankle.

:beli: THEY WERENT IN TITLE CONTENTION.
NOBODY OUT WEST WAS fukkING WITH LAL AFTER THEY GOT GASOL.
THEN WE WATCHED DIRK & A BUNCH OF OLD DUDES WIN THE CHIP IN 2010 WHILE THE SPURS LOST AS THE 1 SEED.
WINNING 50 GAMES AINT shyt WHEN YOU GOT DUNCAN, PARKER & GINOBLI.

If you win 50+ games and are top 3 in the conference you a title contender. It's not like the Spurs were a borderline 8th seed/lottery squad. Popovich maximized the most out of the talent he had.

Parker, Duncan, Ginobili and who else? Besides those 3 the Spurs roster was filled with old, washed up role players. You not winning titles with just 3 players. Spurs had no depth and it showed when the playoffs came.

They really had a struggle offense from 08-10. That shyt was painful to watch. One or more of the big 3 was usually banged up. Those struggle lineups with Bowen, Jacques Vaughn, Horry, McDyess, Damon Stoudamire, Ime Udoka, Oberto, and Brent Barry :gag:

Don't forget about Kurt Thomas, Roger Mason and Keith Bogans either. Yet people want to say Pop underachieved, shyt is laughable

Just read those names again and you got an answer on why the Spurs didn't get back to the Finals until this year.
