I didnt watch the video in the OP. I guess your perspective is about getting bullied by online strangers, im talking about your classmates getting online and putting your business out there. But to answer your other statement, I wouldnt necessarily consider being upset with name calling pussified. These are still kids, some adults murder other adults for name calling. I guess what im trying to say is encouraging the youth to fight back or get over it is a simplified macho stance. Everyone aint built like that, how about we encourage our youth to not pick on people in the first place?

Okay, I get where you're coming from and agree with the things that are completely out of your hands but..

1) if people are calling you fags, cowards, etc on Facebook, why are you even friends with them in the first place? Why isn't your profile private? These setting been there like since the dawn of facebook

2) i really don't see how the whole kumbaya hand hold approach is going to prepare them for the real world

I don't know man, I guess I've been a Malcolm all my life and never a Martin

And being picked on is going to happen regardless, no matter who you are. I just rather prepare them for being picked on and teaching them how to deal with it rather than preparing them for an idealistic world that doesn't exist.

1. Valid points but remember we're talking about kids not adults. You can be friends with someone one day and be their enemy the next day. Also I dont have a twitter but im pretty sure you can still send tweets to people with private profiles, you just cant see their page.

2. Im in the real world and no one tries to bully me. You can build confidence without being bullied. I dont know I respect your opinion but disagree. I feel like you have a better chance of creating columbine shooters than creating thick skin. Bullying hasnt changed, parents just know its going on now because its happening in the house instead of on campus.

I understand being bullied in real and not retaliating because if the fear of physical harm, but how the fukk do you get bullied online and not fight back?

This takes pussification to a whole new level.

That 90s/00s generation is weak IMO (not all of them ofcourse). They lived their whole lives online and grew up with it. They were spoiled and never had to fight their own battles so ofcourse they don't know how to fight back online cause they don't know how to fight back offline.

Rather than stand up for themselves they'd rather make phrases and buzzwords to let everyone know to accept their b!tchassness and blame others for their problems therefore taking the blame off themselves and refusing to make an effort to better themselves.

______________ shaming
______________ privelege
______________ phobia

As well as a celebration of lowered standards, social awkwardness, being weak (physically and mentally) and being mediocre.

Seriously, I'm really sick of these kids flooding my tumblr dash with all this bullsh!t. You either man the f*ck up and handle the shyt that life throws at you or cry in a corner like a f*cking bytch.

Back in my day...when a bully harassed me, you know what I did? I cracked that nikka in the f*cking jaw with a right hook and that was the end of that chapter. Nowadays, you can't do that because junior is such a sensitive little snowflake and doesn't need to be messing up his precious little hands against someone else's face. It'd would just be easier for his parents to sue his family and the school district for "creating a hostile learning environment". It won't end well cause the bully won't stop (probably will go harder cause his parents "snitched") and will continue to teach kids that it's not worth solving problems on their own cause others will do it for them.

Haven't been on twitter in a while, but you can block people and you won't even see their replies or anything. Don't know if you'll see their RTs on your timeline tho.

So you've never been bullied growing up? Never had to get brolic with a kid trying to take your bike? Never fought with an bother/cousin trying to take advantage just because they're older?

Edit: I see what you're talking about in that second point. I took it out of context. SOME people still get bullied as adults. But im referring to handling it as kids/teens in real life.

Yeah when I was a kid I was in a few situations where I had to let it be known that I wasnt gonna put up with BS but I like the direction our youth is going. On this forum we talk about how soft the youth is without taking into account that this "pussified" generation will accomplish a lot more than past generations. We glorify toughness but dont realize that our generation and our parents generation were killing each other way more than this generation is. Its 7 am in cali so im still waking up and articulating my thoughts but what im trying to say is im not seeing the negative affects of this "softer" generation.

I see your point and I agree. It's good that this generation is "calming down" so to speak compared to ours and have a positive and optimistic outlook towards life in general. They really have no reason to be wylin out like that and most of them are actually seem to be waking up and educating themselves online.

I was just saying in terms of bullies and the culture of "bullying" (weak people making themselves feel better about themselves by projecting their weakness on others as strength)...people got to know when to stand up for themselves or they'll fall for anything.

:ehh: I agree

I mean, this "softer" eGeneration may have a better outlook than ours, lord knows we need to keep our people out of the system

But with softer the negatives I see: no backbone, depression, higher divorce rate, easily taken advantage of

A generation of pushovers

I mean, there's a time to talk, and a time to fight/push back

:ehh: Hopefully, with this new gen, there isn't a time to fight

I can't see that happening, I really hope I'm wrong tho
