I don't care how much he got cheered and is beloved. At the end of the day, he will have no impact on the business. He's not even above Cena, Orton, Tista, Brock, Punk, Edge. Guys who drew real money/ratings in one form or another.
Yeah, OP is trying to leapfrog people who built the territories he thrived in. Great wrestler and great run. Gotta just leave it at that, until people get a chance to really process his legacy.

Glad I'm not anywhere near Cacside Seats or :mjpls:ing Forums right now.

The original YES when he won the title was actually a PARODY because he was coming out to CDQ...and he was CHEERING HIMSELF being champion...breh...this is ridiculous LOL...he got crazy over but so did goldberg

yup, also after he won at WM30 he was coming out to those CDQ's heavy, the chant was more over than he was

Lets not go to the other extreme breh. He's definitely above CM Punk and Edge. Batista drew but he didn't have a popularity movement like daniel bryan at all. I'll abstain from commenting on Randy Orton.

How so? Punk had a general interest that year and his merch finally surpassed Cena. He drew money. Edge popped some huge ratings with the live sex gimmicks. Tangible evidence. What has Bryan done besides get over a chant that wasn't even his to begin with? I mean yes his career was unfortunately derailed before he could showcase anything but it is what it is. He is Penny Hardaway status

you guys gotta stop using specific moments and arenas to highlight a wrestler's popularity or lack thereof.

"hey my guy HAS to be more popular because at in your house 97 in pittsburgh he was getting big pops while your guy was getting booed by half the crowd."

You guys? Only one person does that shyt. :pachaha: @R=G

Short answer is no, he's not the 4th most popular WWE Wrestler in history
That's like 14 off the jump, and I can name 14 more...just don't feel like it.
But will say Kurt Angle, Taker, Jeff Hardy, Roddy Piper, Ted Dibiase, Randy Orton, Batista just to push him out of the top 20, and that's not even in order.

No. Not even close. Bret and HBK also don't belong anywhere near that list, as WWE was in a death spiral when they were on top.
