They gave him the mic at the end because Daniel Bryan was so over fans turned on their PPVs and their product for him. Edge was never that important...he was just a super pushed guy since 98.

But that isn't the only definition of popularity, there are wrestlers who were loved overall more over a longer time period too by more people over the years. That being said those reactions aren't necessarily an indication of worldwide popularity in terms of how well he is known in the world.

So it depends on what the question is, is it about popularity to the wrestling fan and the non wrestling fan. Or is about his popularity with just wrestling fans. If it's just wrestling fans he ranks near the very top of the list, the reactions he receives shows that the fans absolutely love the guy like few others.
