I wouldn’t go so far as to call pedophilia however I do believe it’s wrong. A 17 year old and 22 year old are hopefully at very different places in their lives. There is an experience and power difference present in that relationship

There was a safety on our team who was 20yo dating a 16yo high school junior. Strange shyt was he was a player who could have pulled a hundred girls on campus but he dating this one instead. He got clowned a lot in the weight room for it and plenty people tried to talk him out of it.

It's not pedophilia but it's a bad idea when the age range is that far.

I doubt it was predatory in his case but it's EASY to be predatory when you're talking age gaps like that. fukk, a lot of the relationships I saw between college senior guys and freshman girls were predatory. The guy just has so much more experience than the girl and your mind/brain/emotions mature so quickly at that stage that in most cases you're just not at the same level. Like I said that doesn't necessitate that it will be predatory, but for someone who is predatory, going for a girl that young makes things a lot easier.

This is on the assumption women and men age mentally and physically the same. 17 year old girl is closer to maturity than a 22 year old boy. Also this 5 year difference is nothing, majority of men before 25 are teenage like in behaviour and manner.
