It takes about 10 years to get a black belt in bjj, thats after earning the other belts I believe.

Longer than almost any other mixed martial arts.

I was awarded brown at the end of 2011. Maybe a little sooner. I had a baby 2 years ago. I don't have as much time so it's been a slow grind finishing these last 2 stripes because of obvious priorities.

Thing is BJJ at most requires little "power", but instead mostly technique... I.e a game of chest, so its not surprising to find people trying to bash BJJ because its too complex for them...
