Is Drake really losing favor from the public? He last three songs have more dislikes than likes.

At one point Em was everywhere. Black people def fukked wit Em up until after the 8 Mile soundtrack.
Not like Drake though. Drake had everyone at a level Eminem never did. Eminem wasn't getting played in clubs regularly or house parties.

Drake was everywhere. nikkas never had to justify listening to Drake. Drake damn near the top of everyone's end of the year list on most listened to artist, and nobody ever questions it. Even when Eminem got some love in the hood, if you said Eminem was your most played artist, you definitely getting questioned by your homies. In any era.

I've heard a few different Em songs in the club. The one with Nate Dogg and the one with Akon come to mind. Lol
Lol a song here and there, sure. But Drake owned the clubs, the parties, damn near anything that involved outside activities over the last decade. If Drake ain't have a set at your event, you didn't really know what you was doing as a DJ.

I mean I guess. But Em still had more shyt come out more flagrant and black people defended him even in the industry. Drake is black whether people like him or not. I think this whole angle is weird. This battle turned into some other shyt.

I'm not even really getting into the other stuff though

I'm just saying on the surface if I told you in any year from 1995-2005 the biggest rapper ever is going to be a half black-half white Jewish kid from Toronto that was a child actor in a Hit TV series, and he's gonna be fully embraced by everybody from hood nikkas to nerds and all the women going to love him too, you would be like "Ain't no fukking way". I know that's how I would think if you told me that back then.

Stranger things have happened. An ex reality star business man with no political history having a cult following and becoming president of the United States dividing the country and even having a bunch of black supporters wouldn't have been on my bingo card either.

what were those lines Kendrick said about Drake having people close to him that wanna see him fail?

I find it hard to believe he has anybody that's truly looking out for him on the creative side right now

there's no way you care about that man & listen to these last couple songs and go "yeah......that'll bring em back :obama:"
He has WAY too many “Yes” men around him. Yaucty being one of them…

I have this feeling him and Yaucty are gonna have a falling out sooner or later.

While I agree on your other points, no one had to justify listening to Em from MMLP thru Eminem Show. He was hot, black people fukked with him, and he was getting played everywhere except clubs. I think people forget how impossible it was to escape Em shyt at one point. Also even after Eminem Show I remember when Mosh came out and everyone was talking about that shyt. It was covered on prime time news and shyt for being an anti-war song from one of the biggest artists. Obviously that album was trash, but Mosh came out beforehand and had people (including black people) buzzing.

Back to Drake tho...part of the reason Em fell off was his gimmicks stopped working and he had nothing else to pivot to. We all remember how his first single would always be some goofy shyt, then he'd drop a harder track for rap fans. Eventually the goofy shyt got too goofy and the rap shyt got too rappity rap. Drake has been running the same game except he does the pop rap ladies track alongside a "hard" track where he's using that same flow people get mesmerized by. I won't believe Drake is finished until that 1-2 punch stops working.

This.

People looked at Eminem and it was obvious he was white. Nobody looked at Drake and instantly knew he was Jewish. People on here act like Drake was Matisyahu. And even weirder is the whole "nerd" title as if that doesn't apply to a lot of rappers. And its even street and hood dudes that are straight up nerds. Some of the greats at the artform are self-proclaimed "nerds".
