He put out alotta duds in the 90s and 2000s and his GOOD 90s work (nutty professor, Dr. Doolittle) is kinda slept on and isn't placed in the "Definitive Eddie Murphy" era. Plus, the nature of his roles never had the "icon" status that Will's did. Action hero status makes you a god. Comedians turned actors get paid but don't really get that "Hollywood god" credit.
