He’s 22 years old. He definitely has a lot of time to make it in the league. Needs to go overseas and make money while improving his skill. And who knows maybe in a few years he can find a role
once you taste the nba and leave coming back is nearly impossible. Yeah there are the pj tuckers, anthony parkers, yabusele for for 99% of guys once you're out you are out

Created a fake high school just for him, decommitted from Mich St, reclassed and put him in college early at age 17 at Memphis where Penny dumbass had him playing PG. Bates had real flaws with his physical profile to where he probably would have got lapped anyway, but his pops didn't help trying to cut corners and speed up the process.

Thats’s not how the modern nba works. GM’s are not sitting back waiting on and looking for a low value project player to become a fringe rotational player.
It’s over. The kid needs to pivot, head over to an international market and try to make 6 to 7 figures playing against weaker competition

Hell just 1 or 2 years with Izzo could have been good. IF he was receptive to that type of coaching. I think it's also possible (likely?) that if he went to MSU he would have clashed with Izzo, got benched, and ultimately flopped before transferring. This is a guy who was not able to handle criticism or real coaching.

They did nothing wrong he just isn’t good enough yet. I think he will eventually become a rotational player just isn’t right now. Literally does nothing but make contested shots at an okay clip
