It's a good FF. Nothing more, nothing less.
At least play it for the goofy moments and writing. It has a lot of them and they keep the game interesting.
I thought IX was pretty bad. Great art design, but the battles feel slow and delayed, and the loading times killed it.
The moment those are fixed, I'll give it another go.

man IX was awesome, its throw back to traditional FF, and the load times are eased if you playing on PSP or PS3.
