'bout the same as the Pretty Toney, it's not Supreme Clientele caliber. As a matter o' fact, Fishscale right after Ironman, Pretty Toney then Supreme Clientele gotta better flow about it. Outta his starting five, only Wallets is weak.

Great album but more of a fan favorite than classic by my definition.
Album didn’t even go gold, have any big singles, launch a popular tour or anything else to enter classic territory.
Reasonable people can disagree.

Am I bugging or wasn't Back Like That a solid hit? Feel like I remember hearing it a lot back then

Album did 110,000 first week without much promo. I don't think they even dropped a single after the release either. It was a weird time in music commercially. You still had some albums that had big sales but anything that wasn't treated like an event with a big rollout wasn't gonna sell much

noap. got some excellent songs on there

Shakey Dog imo one of the GOAT story telling songs.

Kilos

The Champ (til this day I swear I remember the instrumental being used for Stacker 3 commercials on Monday Night Raw)

Whip You With A Strap (a track I used to explain to my mom how modern hip hop not just 1 dimensional drugs and shyt. Of course she loved it :francis:)

Solid 4/5, but I actually liked Pretty Toney and More Fish more.

it was a hit. Ghost had his own lil lane for a sec there, right. Crossover shyt that shouldn't work, but ghost made the shyt WORK. I was actually having the convo with my girl a few months ago. Ghost could prolly give LL a run for his money as the ultimate sensitive heartbroke thug. He got HELLA songs crying over a broad.

:russ: Hell, He actually got a song where a dude walks in and he's crying over a broad (tooken back)

"I KNOW you ain't crying, fam. :scusthov:"

Ghost: ".......................................................................................... nawl. :to:

Its not on the level of Ironman or Supreme Clientele which are both classics.

But its a great fukkin album, solid 4.5 mic. He dropped like 4 straight 4.5 mic albums after SC.

Top 5 all time
I really Ghost could have took the wheel for the Wu at this time. IMO open he is the only one to maintain the Wu sound but still elevate sonically.

A really really great album, but for me what holds it back from being a true classic is the engineering, which hurts its cohesiveness and flow. I don't know the technical ins and outs, but just SOUNDS like an album produced by a bunch of people, if you know what I mean. Compare that to Supreme Clientele, which is also produced by many folks, but RZA's guiding hand is there throughout, and you can tell. SC has a very consistent sound, and flows really well track to track

As is imo its a 4 mic album

If they woulda just let ghost drop a classic, instead of splitting thr album into 2 parts, maybe it would be.

But imo the og bpw and og pretty toney are stronger. Let alone ironman and supreme.

Fishscale is stronger than them without the cut tracks tho.

GFK was really going up then. He was getting some surprising looks that he wasn’t getting before.

Nah, it's not a classic, but it's a dope album for Ghost.

Ghost has two undeniable classics. Ironman and SC.
