You can see the similarities more the further you go back into Tony's bag. Not a rip off in the least .

But Tony Woods was always a little too weird/quirky for the Def Jam Crowd IMO. Not that he ever did bad, but Dave himself didn't really thrive in that environment so I can see why Tony got lost in the sauce.

Def Jam crowd rewarded performances over actual material. The more cerebral comedians might have a hard time connecting.

i agree..though his cadence got slower after a while...my guess because he gets mad faded before going on stage.
Franklyn Ajaye and George Wallace been in the game for decades. a shame people don't give them their credit
Chappelle gave Woods full credit in his acceptance speech to the Mark Twain awards.

There are other short clips around where he talks about his influence also.
