My mom who has been In trucking business for a decade says that she can hardly remember ever using her DUNs number and pretty much every business loan is personal guaranteed regardless

When I get on the YouTube business guru section all people talk about is business credit, a DUNs number and paying for trade lines to report to d&b

Is it really just YouTube mumbo jumbo ? Is my moms right that a DUNs isn’t what I think it is

I've only used mines in regards to Government work when they request it.
Not all of my loans/credit trade lines report to it.
Other than that I've never used it.:manny:

It just makes it easier for governments and banks to see how financially stable your business is. Like an SSN for your business's credit check.
I mean I know what it’s for but really I’m asking if you’re trying to get business loans and business credit or credit lines is it really needed like people claim ?

It's not needed for business loans since underwriting will be looking at your profit/loss reports and business taxes to decide if they want to loan you money or not

Like homeboy said, certain govt contracts require it and I've been asked when getting into some deals with vendors and clients. It's just one more way to show you are a serious, established entity.

If you have an actual revenue generating business and not trying the LLC twitter nonsense, it doesn't hurt.

It's was only needed for government contracting but there is no more DUNS number. That shyt is over and done with. It's called a UEI now.
