Didn’t read one post in this thread, but PLEASE don’t compare Freak to prime Shaq. Same numbers but different impact and dominance.

With that said, we don’t appreciate Freak at all. He is underrated and looked over for some odd reason. I have my guesses why, but that’s another thread.
……based off?

Shaq demoralized all big men he faced in his THREE finals MVPS. Which led to teams feeling hopeless. Freak doesn’t have the same impact at all in comparison to Shaq. Players feared Shaq, they don’t fear Freak. Impact.

The other difference is that Freak is a full court player, Shaq is a paint player, their dominance is different.

It’s easy to demoralize Todd MacCullough and Jason Collins

Mutombo is too light for Shaq

I would say Giannis constantly taking it into Ayton’s chest one-on-one and finishing on top of him is demoralizing

Why didn’t he demoralize Hakeem, Duncan, Malone :troll:

Underrated postseason? No...

"Underrated" would imply that he's having an extraordinary run that isn't being recognized as such. He's yet to show his game can increase an extra gear, there is no "Playoff Giannis" because he's exactly the same as he is in regular seasons, and more should be expected of a multiple-time MVP...

Absolutely atrocious free throw shooting, borders between average and atrocious in close late game scenarios, isn't his team's closer, and yes, people should talk about him looking clearly inferior to Kevin Durant, and the Bucks struggling to put away injury-riddled Nets and Hawks teams under his guidance, despite being of mostly great health themselves and having a highly decorated superstar who should be enough to tip the balance vs the series of injured opponents...

This board is so damn either/or. Stating these things aren't underrating nor "hating" Giannis...

Fellas, he mostly plays the 4 in Milwaukee's lineups. No one should consider him a wing because he isnt playing a wing position...

100%...

Middleton has good games, they win. He doesn't, they lose. And this should say more about how we should view Giannis, than Middleton. The Bucks aren't winning games where Giannis is great and Middleton is bad and again, more should be expected of a guy with Giannis' cache...

Right now, all this is, is a temporary love fest with Giannis because everyone's favorite guys are out. It isnt even genuine...

I mean, there's a lot of parallels between Giannis and Shaq, and there's certainly a narrative fold with the perception Shaq needed a sidekick who closed out games and provided elite perimeter scoring, which isn't too dissimilar to what we've seen with Giannis. While they dominate the games in different ways, they're both unstoppable forces in the paint, but the only real difference is, Giannis is a much greater force on the defensive end.
