Is God selfish? How come He demands constant praise and worship while not doing anything for us

Exactly what lesson is a starving child learning? Or a rape victim?

I thought we were talking about you being an idiot that leaves their child in a forest for whatever reason.

...but I’ll tell you what victims of the above things learn: people unregulated will cause harm to others.
Do you deny that?

Joe that dude a clown talking in circles. Par for course. I will admit his "god can know the future he just doesn't want to nyahhh" defense is an new and exciting bullshyt talking point I've never seen before.

So god created allllll this shyt on a whim because he can do anything, but he can't stop world hunger, or the devil, or even know whats going to happen 4 minutes from now (unless he...wants to :mjlol: ). But a whole book was written of his supposed prophecies :dead: this shyt is hilarious :dead:

I thought you were done here, and you “generally don’t care” about any of this...

I'm done here meant I'm done taking the ilogical shyt you peddling seriously :hubie:

and I don't care, I'm agnostic. I just think its amusing to poke holes in ya'll logic when it would be so easy to go "its just blind faith" and I wouldn't have anything to say at all. You so willing to die on this all knowing hill you're basically say you or me potentially know as much about the future as an all powerful. That is peak comedy :mjlol:

Let me ask you this:

On Page 4 of the Bible (right at the beginning), why did God ask Adam and Eve...
1) where they were...
2) how did they learn this new information they had...
3) what did they do...

...if he knew exactly what they were going to do ahead of time?

He woke your azz up today you ungrateful prick

you also have food and a roof over your head and you’re healthy

What about those who didn't wake up with a roof over their heads, or food to eat? Those with incurable diseases...should they be grateful that God has blessed them with another day of suffering?

It's also why I never bought it when people acted like having questions is such a blasphemous thing. You've got people championing going to church every Sunday and acting like they're better than everyone who doesn't, but are the first ones to be sleeping with somebody's spouse or steal from the tithing... And they're the ones who want to referee how people do things. :mjlol:

I get that churches aren't places for perfect people, in fact, some of the most broken might be the church folks. But that's why you've gotta walk your own journey sometimes, cause not every church is a place you wanna dwell in. Even Jesus had to flip a table or two.

Exactly.

And I think that a lot of people don't understand how loving and relatable God and Jesus really are and how they are more interested in relationship not religion.

In fact, Jesus denounced a lot of the religious people of His day (Pharisees etc) and hung out with regular people with regular problems...dudes with mouths like sailors (in fact many were fishermen) became His closest friends and apostles. Mary Magdalene was a former prostitute just like one of Jesus' own great grandmothers Rahab and yet Jesus was very close to her. Jesus Himself came from the hood (John 1:46 "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?") and was born next to animal dung in a filthy barn. He did all that and ultimately sacrificed His life in a very painful and prolonged way (Jesus hung on the cross for at least 6 hours before He died) and then being resurrected on the third day all in order for us to have a real relationship with Him and God. Not for us to have "religion" but for us to come to know Him and to truly seek Him. It's worth it. I can't count how many times I have prayed to God out of loneliness/despair/physical and emotional pain/unemployment/heartbreak/grief and have been comforted...sometimes not in the exact way I want it or in the timing I have wanted it, but God has always been there to help me even when I just had a tiny mustard seed of faith in Him. Even when I was angry with Him or felt betrayed by Him or didn't understand why I was going through what I went through.

Once again friend. There is a verse...for literally everything. I just posted a few that said god knows everything. Now the problem is okay, they were supposed to be allegorical, then what else is supposed to not be taken literally :jbhmm:

Either its all right or its all wrong. Its the words of god correct? Besides its all up to your own personal interpretation, there is no right answer. For your above question I could simply say it was god taking the stance of a parent whose already knows you've misbehaved yet asks you anyway to have you tell on yourself. You know your parents have done that to you at some point. Or it could what you say, he doesn't know anything besides whats in front of him :mjlol:

which one sounds more likely to you? And thats the beauty we could both be wrong, right, in between. Its a text that is up to interpretation that has been translated hundreds of times missing mad books as well lol. Its preposterous it holds any merit to this day if I'm being honest.

God is merely conscious energy that you align with on a deep inner vibrational level. In other words, it's YOUR subconscious mind. The adjective form of subconscious means "of or concerning the part of the mind of which one is not fully aware but which influences one's actions and feelings."

Notice that the definition states that we are not fully aware of this consciousness, yet it influences our actions and feelings. In other words, if you feel that you are whatever it is that you are in the present moment, your subconscious mind will influence your actions and actually creates a reality where you become what you feel you are.

With that being said, if you program your mind to believe that God doesn't exist, or fill your mind with negative thoughts, then that is the reality that you're choosing to create for yourself.

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then from whence comes evil?"

The Problem of Evil is basically the premise of this thread. Y'all are doing a terrible job of explaining away the inherent holes in the "merciful loving God" narrative.

Here's the problem...WHY did he have to die a slow torturous death for man to have a relationship with God? Was there NO other way?

The OT should dash that merciful god shyt. christians love to act like this shyt doesn't exist unless its to use a verse from it to support some goofy theory they have. this dude basically let satan tee off on Job to prove a point :mjlol: imagine ya ma dukes let someone murder ya whole family and given you pestilence for decades to prove a point. We say she was demonic. Naw thats gods plan. I honestly love the OT its worse than fukking Berserk.

Right, blood atonement is the only way.

Personally, I'm glad this is the case. There is a big difference between someone just saying to me "I love you" (anybody can say that flippantly) as opposed to someone who says "I love you so much that I will prove it by sacrificing my blood for you. In fact ALL of my blood for you." The difference is monumental to me. The act of actually DEMONSTRATING love and forgiveness by the shedding of blood and the sacrifice of a person's life is amazing. There is no greater way to demonstrate love than that and that is why God required it. This is how much He loves us and wants a relationship with us.
