Is Gran Turismo 6 worth getting?

A lot of people say it's better than Forza 5 despite being on older hardware, and I never got around to playing GT 4 or 5. 3 was the last one I had, and it came with my PS2. Is this new one fun or does it get old fast? I see it's only 40 bucks new on amazon.
