The D (where it's so cold)
It used to be that as new viral and bacterial strains came along, they would kill a portion of the population. The ones that were immune would survive and pass on those genes.

The advent of modern medicine means that the virus or bacteria will evolve whereas humans remain at an evolutionary standstill. So we get diseases that are resistant to everything and humans with immune systems that aren't programmed to fight these things.

THe point of this post is simple. WE ARE DOOMED> :demonic:

Uh, that still happens. H1N1 and that bird flu killed off alot of people, I guess it comes down to what you consider a portion (of the population) is exactly.

I"m talking about pandemics. Scientists have actually located hyper-virulent diseases and have them under study in heavily secured areas. I think the last pandemic was around 1918 with influenza.

It can't help that Gronk continues to travel and sh1t. Wasn't dude in Mexico? I doubt he has the discipline to rehab.

If it was really serious, they wouldn't keep letting him out of the hospital tho.

Yall are just making yourself scared and paranoid.. I'm telling you this thread won't end well...When I first started reading about resistant hair folical staph infections and a kid that died, I was scared to go to the barber outside of my home for months...

You can't protect yourself from everything, you gotta just learn to live and not stress yourself out about whats coming...

This is true. The superbug phenomena has been known for at least 10 years.

The real troubling factor is this though: Hospitals and general and doctors specifically are not following guidelines for preventing the spread of diseases. In Superfreakonomics, the authors discussed surveys indicating a majority of doctors do not sanitize themselves between patient checkups. Typically nurses and staff at hospitals are better at this, but not perfect.
