Education. We need to start there. Start challenging the educational structures in impoverished areas for improvement.

Alot of these youngins are straight up being born with no chance to succeed.
True that, I just finished working at an elementary school in the suburbs and the advantage suburban kids have over kids in the inner city in terms of education is ridiculous smh.

We can work on changing our economic condition while investing time to stabilize our family structure. We can kill two birds with one stone.

Not when we don't even run our community. Our community is run by women right now.

Sure it sounds good to kill two or even twenty birds with one stone, but I rather guarantee one bird for my meal than to go home without food knowing our stone isn't big enough right now.

HBCUs, on the whole, offer subpar education. Not to mention, the administrations of those respective schools are very sloppy.

However, the idea/mission statement behind them is optimal.
Whats crazy is i did a year at an HBCU (FAMU) and the experience of seeing 14,000 strong black students chasing after their education is beautiful. But the funding and the administrations of these types of schools are sadly not always the best.

:ohhh: I never even thought about it like that.

Study your history fam. Read the works of Ida B. Wells for start. A lot of the lynchings back in the day were economically motivated. Whites don't want us to compete with them, so they employ all types of tactics to try to undermine us, including violence. If black people were to practice group economics then nikkas better make sure they are heavily armed because history shows white aggression will come.

From Tulsa to Rosewood to little Africa to Atlanta. They've burned down our most economically prosperous cities.

There's no magic bullet to combat white supremacy because it doesn't just attack us economically.

It starts with 2 things: banks/credit unions and social media. All the other stuff yall are talking about can't happen until after.

If you feel education is what's most important, than go out in your community and start educating folks. Every last one of us has to be involved and has to take on a leadership position to combat this problem.

IMO the biggest problem we face is everyone wants to talk about what needs to be done but very few wants to actually do the work.

@MilesP4P if you're serious about fighting this fight, find an organization in your city whose is the liberation of black people and take on a leadership role if one is available. Become committed to the cause and start to put in the necessary work to make shyt better for us.

Our community is run by women because the men aren't being men. Too many nikkas is to afraid to step up and be the men that our women want and desire us to be. Which is why I will never put the condition of the black community on the women, because that's our fukking job that we dropped the ball on.

What are the advantages?
For one I can say they definite offer better after school/ after care programs to the children that attend suburban elementary schools. And at first it didnt seem like a big deal but those type of programs would keep so many kids out of trouble in the inner city ya know..and they would be such a great help to all the moms busting they ass working two jobs AND trying to find someone to watch their kids lol. And the technology the suburban kids have in class is crazy..out here in Florida they have schools where kids are required to have tablets lmao shyt is nuts to me.

The words in bold are not absolute. The quality of the education is more or less the same wherever you go; just the professors, their reputation and the reputation of the school is what matters. HBCUs lack those. The administrative part is true though.

I thought about that, I think the only reason some people might oppose it, is they think of "segregation" when thinking of schools for blacks. But I think maybe seperate schooling might be great to instill values and knowledge in our youth that they arent receiving in regular schools.

Breh were already segregated. The first thing you have to do is forget all the bullshyt you learned in school, church, from your parents, and our so called black leaders. Segregation never ended, it just became covert. The more you read up on our history with white supremacy, the angrier you're going to become. Just want to mentally prepare you fam.

If that's true does that really matter

Most people are just getting a liberal arts or business degree and getting some job in an office or going to law school

Maybe if you're looking at getting a science PhD you might not wanna be at some place with subpar undergraduate rigor, besides that who cares
