The intro could've been its own beat and then it morphs into some tropical sounding beat at the end. Best two moments of the song. When it dropped, it was hot lava. Don't like it as much now outside of the parts I mentioned.

Also I think 'Hey Papi' and title was a nod to then emerging "Latin Explosion" in music and Rap in general around the turn of the millenium. Jay Z was basically a Pop Icon at this point and so was Rap.
These type of Timbo beats were so unique like nothing sounds like that. I guess the tempo.
