Honestly, they'd probably have to pull defeat from the jaws of victory (ie. 2016 again) for Trump to win considering he's historically unpopular.
dems are quite adept at doing that though.... i don't believe the polls though.. here's the problem, trump is unpopular, but those who are right leaning see dems as far worse... that is the part of the polling that was missed.... conserves are coming home to vote republican no matter what... you're right about the voting levels, but conservative votes are reliable... dem votes, not so much.... also, let's not overlook infrastructure.... while repubs control everything they can employ all manor of voter suppression tactics (and they only need to do this in a few swing states) to tilt the scales in their favor....
i really don't have faith that trump can be defeated for a whole host of reasons.... dems need a really good 2018 and some new blood has to rise to the top.... no diss to bernie, but he is old... maybe there is someone waiting in the shadows with his qualities that is younger..... trump has a lot of good things going for him considering he has the power of the presidency and is being normalized everyday... one negative he now has though, is he now has a record.... if conservative voters can be split just by say 10%, the dem would cost to victory....
good points as always acri1, i was enjoy reading your posts....
