Truth be told, every singer/rapper/band that "make it" have a lot more hustle than everybody around them - even the wack ones. You can shyt on them all day long but guaranteed they put in a ton of work to get to where they are - the average person put into the same position would fail 10/10 times.

You got nerds sitting here scared to talk to women in public but think that they'd be able to do heavy networking.
Exactly. Now, I'm not defending her in any way, but being a performer in any fashion requires a bunch of hard work. Let's forget performance and networking for a moment, just finding your own style as a rapper is incredibly difficult. You want originality. And then you have to polish it to the point where people want to listen to you. You have to make sure that you're always writing to keep the pen sharp, freestyling, working on breath control, everything.
THEN you have to make sure all of that translates into your live performances. Networking is half the battle, and 'download my mixtape fam' ain't cutting it. You gotta build your fan base one person at a time, and getting someone to actually take the time out and take you seriously is harder than most people think. So I 100% agree with you, especially because the average person lacks the drive and isn't gonna be willing to make the sacrifices necessary.
It's a shame. I really hate when people talk about having money or coming from the suburbs. SO what if she had money. money is not putting in the work to generate a following. That woman knows yall gonna talk abou ther and still goes out everyday despite the boos.
That's why i laugh at ppl who talk about drake. Drake's supposedly this p*ssyfied fake nikka, whos in the public eye at all times. Cats on here can stand to talk in a group of ppl out of anxiety, nevermid perform on stage.
The irony is, most of those same people criticizing him come from suburbs too. What the fukk is wrong with suburbs anyway? I've said this in a previous thread, but just because a man or woman doesn't come from a rough neighborhood, doesn't mean they lack courage. You can grow up in a gang environment and still be a pushover. That's nothing to glorify anyway, look what happened to Chinx. As for money... it can open a lot of doors for you, but you can't buy knowledge and experience. And money can't buy you genuine love.
And the crazy thing about Drake is, even if he was fake (which he doesn't seem to be), he'd be a lot realer than many of these other rappers. Many of them are actors, and the only reason why most of them don't come out and say it is because the culture has always been focused around being authentic. I mean think about it, Rick Ross got exposed, yet he still gets love and still sells well for where he is. If the game was really all about authenticity like we were led to believe, then he should've been out ages ago. Yet, there hasn't been many rappers that tried to go at him, if at all. So that tells me that either he's got influence and goons, or the game itself is just like Rick Ross, and they don't want to throw stones at a glass house.
