The way these numbers are reported isn’t defined by the President. Just like unemployment. People want to complain about flaws in the formula like President churns out the number with a calculator. Any time you generate one value from a massive economy you’re going to lose context; just like GDP is misleading.

But I agree the inflation rate hitting average Americans is way higher than the official number.
