If you have no direction, why not? :ehh:

Make sure to join the Air Force. Look into guard before active duty.

I was able to get a 6 figure job off of just one 4 yr enlistment. :blessed:

My job was cyber. Get a high ASVAB score and get a cyber job. Use TA to get that degree for free, use AFCOOL to get your certs, get that TS clearance, and use skillbridge to get out 6 months prior from separation to intern at a defense contractor... before you push that button, you'll have money being thrown at you :wow:.

All of this is contingent on you not being a dumbass and getting some broad pregnant or wasting all your money.

My first assignment was a 2 yr tour in Germany, so long as you're a normal breh and in shape you'll be swimming in p*ssy :noah::ohlawd:

You just have to be smart about it if you join. Air Force is probably the branch where you have the best chance of having a cake gig, then Navy. I've been in the Navy 15 years, never been on a Ship. There's a shyt load of beneifits that you can take advantage of that will help you come out on top even if you dont do 20. You have to keep in mind that the Military is going to use you and get everything it can out of you, so you have to use it to get everything you can from it.

Here's a dope example of how some military members were able to be creative with thier benefits and build for when they got out. I know some who purchase a home each time they relocate on new orders. They rent out each home and make extra money from real estate. 2-3 homes with 1 VA loan, no down payments.....

Starting pay in the air force really 30k? :dahell:

It depends on what rank you come in as, how quickly you promote, and whether or not you're in the dorms.

Dudes also forget the tax benefits, special duty pays, incentive pays, bonuses, and getting paid for deployments/TDYs are not contained in those charts folks google. :ld:

It definitely gets better the longer you're in and the higher you rise, though. :francis:

Make sure you have a good job picked out if you do join. It's like The Matrix, either the red or blue pill. Everyone's experience is really varied and depends totally on your job. It's not something to go in half assed, you will find out quick that the job sucks and your stuck for however long the initial enlistment is....
Perfect analogy

Not really. Plenty of folks I know hated their first AFSC, X-trained, and loved their second one. :yeshrug:

Also knew a buncha folks that had the 'dream job' going into basic and didn't even make it through training to their first duty station.

Some wack jobs have sweet billets.

Unless folks were denied retraining, it's their own fault if people hate their job.

I was told that when I first came in and it always stuck. I try to pass that along to anyone asking about joining

I’m getting Disability and a Pension. My kids have healthcare and college paid for. It was worth it for me.

But, staying in for 20 absolutely will take a toll on you.

You can still do well on ASVAB and still can't get the job of your choice just because if there's a shortage in one particular career field they'll try to sell you on that particular job.
I know people who got a 99 on their ASVAB and they ended up being a cop

You can do guaranteed jobs in the AF before you ship out. Or you used to be able to. They do guaranteed aptitudes too. That will probably push your boot camp date back but its worth it overall.

Yea they still have guaranteed jobs, but the recruiters job is to try to push you into those areas that have shortages.

They try to sell you on that job being cool, but when you get to your first duty station you find out it's a whole other ball game

If you can't do 20, don't. Best advice I ever got was to know when you're done and don't lie to yourself about it. If I didn't hit Ft. Hood first, I'd probably still be in and talking cash shyt. But that first duty station took about 10 years out of me.

Still played my cards right an made the best out of the time I put in. But you gotta know how to make the best of any situation for sure.

You already know. I know some dudes who have to do that 20 because they have a family to feed. If it wasn't for that I'm sure they would've hopped off a long time ago
