They're using him to get on because they're already pretty established but they're not oblivious to Akademiks following and the looks it generates.

This is already the about to be most popular clip from their show in at least the last 3 months and they just posted it a few hours ago.

They were on Complex wayyyyyyyyy before Ak, have a successful podcast, and were doing shyt for MTV 2, once again, before AK. Unlike Ak, their show is on an actual network. They do not need Ak for anything, because they are far more relevant than he is, and don't just interview rappers who are promoting something.

Granted, I think Desus and Mero are bad at interviews too, but they're far better than AK was when Nadeska and him had to take the reigns.

How when they were just on fukking Colbert? Has AK actually been on any major network? Interviewee or just to say what up? People don't know this guy, people know D and M. Ak is the one throwing random shade, he is the one trying to come up.
