Is it arguable that both Drake and J. Cole are better songwriters than Kendrick?

Cohesive album > individual songs.

As you know from hearing S.80 and GKMC there's nobody in Main stream HIP HOP who's better at making cohesive albums.

Listening to Keisha song, ADHD, Cartoons and cereal, Sing about me and money trees, I think it's clear kendrick is also the better song writer. Drake is a better hit maker, a better hook writer but that's about it.

I think K Dot and Drake are pretty much equals with Cole behind them, but not by much. K Dot is superior as far as song structure goes. He routinely goes out of the box to give you more than the ordinary verse, hook, bridge sequence you're used to. Some of the structure in GKMC was crazy. Art of Peer Pressure:wow: Drake is straight textbook perfection with his songwriting. The structure is more traditional, but his execution is razor sharp. Perfect hooks, perfect bridges, perfect timing. Hence why dude is a hit factory. It's also why he's the hash tag king (:skip:). Besides writing shyt that ratchet bytches love to quote, he always makes sure that hashtag line gets the spotlight somehow.

Cole does his own production so I have to give him props there alone. He probably has the most on his shoulders as far as making a track come to fruition than the others. He writes some great hooks, he just needs to think twice sometimes about doing those hooks himself. And as much as I love Cole, out of these three, he's the one I sometimes (not often) find myself thinking there's something missing from this song. But when he gets everything right (Nobody's Perfect for example) he's just as good as the other two.

I wish that nikka Big K.R.I.T didn't fukk up with his debut. I always pictured these four nikkas being successful and always mentioned together. C'mon Krizzle :wow:

In some fairness to K.R.I.T I think he takes the most risks musically.

I definitely agree. His music is strongly influenced by old school, classic southern hip hop, which can be polarizing to other regions or viewed as too old school in the south. He's artistically the equal, if not better than, the other three, imo.

Gotta go with Kdot, dude makes dope ass songs, plus they usually have strong bars, and lot of them I actually connect to, I'm left feeling some kinda way or thinking about the track. Drake makes good popular songs, like they're easy to get you in a certain mood, but they don't stick with me once I walk away. Cole has the talent for songs, but I don't think he's beating k dot or drake at the moment, and I'm a cole stan

Why are Cohesive albums > individual songs in this day in age???

Take Care and Born Sinner are just as much or even more so cohesive than GKMC

Both Cole and Drake are better Song writers than Kendrick

nikka Cole has more hits than Kendrick :what:

Mark my words, Cole's 3rd album is gonna shut shyt down if he actually keeps to his word this time and gets outside production + features. Born Sinner is an 8.5/10 and he's been improving. Yall wont be able to deny him.

:dead: Kendrick already has three top 40 singles to Cole's one and a platinum album

and those three singles are all off one album

The H
aint none of them nikkas seeing Kendrick

Drake??the same Drake stealing songs from that fakkit weeknd?
nikka walking into the weeknd session tlaking bout.."i got have this song".."this one too"

what happened to being featured on another nikka's song?when the fukk did it become acceptable to take another nikka's song and put it in your own album?

Imagine Jada telling DMX.."yo son this Slippin' song should be on my album"

:heh:

Notice I didn't say "more lyrical"?

Discuss.

Ye I'm sure you can when one created a near classic concept album that has received widespread critical acclaim and the other two haven't. :usure::shaq2:

Like, what the fukk is going on in your mind to even create threads like this?

So this song concept is about Drake ultra simping about a woman and getting intoxicated because he can't be with her. And you know what that's literally the extent of this guys music, he doesn't write anything with any sort of story to it. Don't get me wrong it doesn't sound bad or anything but this is your modern day Ja Rule ladies and gentleman and U.E.N.O.

Don't try and switch up how you prefer ones music over the other to the other being a better songwriter and just accept the fact that you like RnB music marketed to women.

I guess a case could be made that J.Cole is a better song writer than Kendrick but I'll just go a long with the MAJORITY of critics and fans who are all in unison when I say that Kendrick is a better song writer. Cole hasn't shown his diversity as of yet, Born Sinner was a solid album and I'm sure he'll keep improving. I guess only time will tell but as of yet he's not better than Kendrick.
