Is it bad that I don't like to give homeless people anything (especially money)?

I don't like to give homeless people any type of money hell not even a quarter, dime or an nickel...you wanna know why?

Well it's because I have this presumption that any money I give to em might be used for drugs (YES DRUGS) because as most of us know homeless people are big druggies/alcoholics so I don't wanna support somebody's drug habit in the process; which would make me feel like a fool.

I don't even like giving food because they don't really need food since shelters supply them with three meals (snacks included) a day plus they'll just throw it away & as far as clothes is concerned eh but I don't wanna give them that either...

Am I cold hearted for this?

Everytime a homeless person ask me for something to eat, when im going into a restaurant, i get them something to eat..

I don't give them money, but if they ask for food while im going into a restaurant, they eating too..

You don't ever feel like the food you're buying for them is going to waste? Especially if they're not eating in front of you...

Most of the time I give them money, like a dollar or two or whatever spare change I have in my pocket. There are times that I don't though, especially when I know one is trying to run game on me.

We have some professional panhandlers in my city though. This one particular upper middle aged White lady probably in her late 50s or 60s I see out there daily.

There is a Black guy that has been panhandling for years as well he always rides his bike. I gave him like $2 one night he looked at me and looked back at the money then looked at me again and proceeded to say to me "that's all you going to give me." I started cussing him out and he hopped on his bike and rode off.

I've had homeless people ask me for money for food, I tell them to follow me, I'll get you something.. They start B.Sing at that point.. I knew they wanted the money for something else..

I've bought a homeless man a 6 pack of Heineken, because he was standing in front of the liquor store asking for money for a 22oz.. He was honest with what he wanted and i was buying liquor anyway..

I use to give homeless people a dollar or two all the time, til one day one of them said “can you make it 5 dollars?”

Giving is best done in a spirit of selflessness.
Karma and blessings comes from the act of giving, not what someone does with what you gave, imo.

For me I feel like if I'm giving you money for something specific I expect you to use it for that purpose only. Don't tell me "oh you think you can give five bucks for something to eat" but turn around and used it for drugs, cigarettes or alcohol.

That makes me feel like a fool for trusting your intentions...
