Even if we're just talking about the Mario games on NES, nothing is touching them.

Not sure if any other franchise dropped 3 nuclear bombs like Mario did. Like I'm talkin nuclear BOMBS.
Like that first SMB changed the fukkin game. I don't even have to get into it. Everyone knows that it's the most important video game in the history.
And then just a few years later... they change the game AGAIN and drop SMB3. Like they raised the bar to the fukkin SKY with that one.
And then just for good measure. When n64 rolls around... they put out Mario 64 and dropped a THIRD bomb.

I think you can include Super Mario World in there too.
Maybe SMB3 and SMW. Nostalgia blinds, but there's just as good platforming games that were released recently.

Yea maybe you could throw SMW in the mix cause yea it was a HUGE game and the launch title for a BRAND NEW console... and yea it was a BIG deal....

SMB, SMB3, and SM64 might all be in the top 15.
And at the very least the original SMB is probably the single best candidate for #1.

3 is the closest, I hated 64 because of that stupid 3D shyt, i never gotten into 3d mario.
SMBW is one of the 5 greatest console games of all time regardless of platform.

You have the right to that opinion but in terms of impact and significance as it pertains to the video game medium... it trails them.
N64 was revolutionary and is arguably the greatest game of all time because of it's impact.
