Is it just me or is "Born Sinner" highly underrated on the coli?

Nah. I think it's been the single most praised album of the new releases by the fans. Everyone seems to agree it's neither trash nor particularly mediocre - but hardly anyone's calling it a classic either. Which, to me, is a fair consensus.

Now his Truly Yours series is a whooole nother story...

It's a solid album. It didnt really have a ton of replay value IMO, but I bought the album after listening to it, so it was obviously something I liked. Plus, Cole's album is being received really well by the masses commercially, so it's not like people aren't showing their appreciation with their wallets.

I agree with the handful of dudes that say that Wale's album seems to be the most slept on album of the year though. That shyt is a splendid album, better than any of the albums released in the last month imo, and it doesn't seem to have improved Wale's standing commercially or respect wise one bit. After listening to that joint when it leaked, I thought that the album was going to be huge for him and catapult him to around the Cole tier of young dudes. shyt hasn't happened yet, at least as far as I can tell.

Jay is obviously a better rapper than Cole, but its clearly apparent he doesn't give a fukk about lyricism anymore. The production on MCHG is great, but it's obvious Cole put his heart and soul in to BS while Jay just got great production

Jay-Z is not "obviously a better rapper than Cole," not since 09 anyway, and I rate both their recent albums about the same (3.5 to a light 4 out of 5).

I don't get your logic, because going by mine in the previous post Jay-Z was the better rapper, not so much since a hungry ass Cole came up and got on.

Overall, it'd be a silly argument. One's top 3 all-time and other is barely top 3 presently. That's not the argument. Actively, though, I prefer Cole and a case can certainly be made as to who is better at rapping 2009-present.
