For the people who are really strapped for food, churches usually give away boxes of canned and dry goods every other week and grocery stores throw out perfectly sealed food that have minor blemishes like squashed bread, stuff one day after the expiry, etc
good point....I know a couple churches who give away food to low income, homeless, senior citizens, and those who are striggling weekly.

$100 gets me my meat for the MONTH. And we're a family of 4. In NYC. What ya'll doing?:gucci:

Add an extra $60 for seafood. And there's enough for leftovers to take to lunch everyday. Probably spend $30 on munchies for the month.

The only thing I buy weekly is fresh fruits and vegetables. And even then, I go to the farmers market and spend maybe $20 on that. If that.

Hit up the African market, and I can get a months worth of rice for $5-6. I can get beans for the month for $3. Flour, oats, grains all of that is like 50 cents a pound there.

Stop sleeping on Mom and Pops, and your little around the way markets. That's how you make your dollars stretch. I only go to big name stores for meat. And again, I only buy what's on sale.
No way.
Your family must be scrawny as fukk if they're stretching $100 worth of NYC priced meat over 30 days. :camby: shyt outside of NYC that's still not a months worth. Beef, turkey, steak, sausage, fish, and chicken for 4 people, eating breakfast lunch and dinner for one hundred dollars? No fukking way, my wife and I spend more than that a month just on ourselves and I eat the lions share of the food.

Avoid supermarkets.....that shyt'll make you sick

Use food delivery services, amazon and local farmers markets to get fair prices on healthy food

Things is a lot worst in this country than most people know shyt is being held together by glue and string
Yeah I go the butcher for my meat. Eggs/dairy/fruit I go to the farmers market.

I wanna get into the hunting game and get my meat a-1 fresh :wow:

Agree...but why TF is beef jerky getting so dayum high. I don't get that...

That's what I'm trying to figure out. For the price of a bag of beef jerky, you can have a meal at some of the lesser sit down restaurants or you can even buy a whole steak to cook for yourself.

You guys should start eating real food and it wont be so expensive

I just bought 3 beets, 4 kiwi fruit, and a lemon for 12 bucks...

Few stocks of collards, an onion, and some tilapia is like 20$ and lasts you a couple meals..

Lentils are cheap, Carrots are cheap, Cucumbers are cheap, Apples are cheap...

Eggs and white fish are cheap...

Collard greens are cheap....

Remember back in 08 when gas prices shot up and food prices went along for the ride?

Peep how food prices stayed high even though gas prices dipped to sub $1 during the recession.

Only thing that doesn't increase is wages.

You already know what they are doing. In the end, CEOs and upper management are only doing what is beneficial to them and their greed.
