you know what's funny....
when i first visited the south in the late 80s ...early 90s...
you were the shyt in the south if you were that "Boy from New York City"...i mean it carried so much weight ...cause the music ...fashion and slang was dominated by NYC at the time .....
all i had to do was rock a N.Y fitted or open my mouth or ride around town bumping my red alert...marley marl cassettes from my ride and byatches and dudes was jocking hard.....
but by the late 90s shyt changed dramatically....
once the NO LIMIT wave came in along with the CASH MONEY ...along with the other movements such as Rap A Lot...Suave house....
and with the Dungeon Family proclamation at the SOURCE AWARDS that the south got something to say
the SOUTH got not only thier own IDENTITY..but started INFLUENCING THE NATION AS WELL....
and they got a MEAN HUSTLE GAME...i really like the fact that southerners are just PRACTICAL when it comes to doing shyt........it makes sense and saves money in the long run...
i come across so many country niccas who once they get thier money right the first thing they do is BUY LAND...that has influenced me alot
but what really first got me...
mainly was thier PERSONALITY...and HIGH ENERGY....
REAL HONEST and EMOTIONAL
yeah the south wasn't known for hi tech "lyricists" and wordsmiths..but thier personalities and colorful character meant alot in ENTERTAINMENT in the comedy circut as well as music
and Byatches LOVE ENTERTAINMENT...pretty soon....the COUNTRY DUDES aint had to worry about the UP NORTH NYC cats taking thier byatches....
and i'll admit it i was jealous for a short minute once the south started making its presence known...
hoes on my HBCU campus who was once jocking the dude who wore tims ..and wallabees and cuban links whipping a crisp Acura Legend were now all on da dikk of the geechie azz dude with the gold teeth in his mouth maknig them beats bump in that old classic CHEVY DUNK with the daytons on it....
it was a intresting time....
but you know the old saying...CAN'T BEAT EM...JOIN EM...
since that time ...i've had great RELATIONS WITH MY SOUTHERN BRETHREN since i made the full move here in 97
i was just in a sports lounge last night in SOUTH CAROLINA...with my lil ATL broad and that same song by PLIES "DRIP 4 SALE" came on...
and i can't front IT SOUNDED DAMN GOOD....while sipping some SOUTHERN COMFORT WITH A COKE while watching ALABAMA'S OWN DEONTAY WILDER put a COUNTRY AZZ BEATING ON THAT proper speaking Baby Hair looking dude....
hey ......gotta respect it..........THE SOUTH IS WHERE HIP HOP LIVES NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only northerners who diss other regions/cities are New Yorkers. The rest of us mind our own buisness. Boston/Minneapolis/Philly/Kansas City/Detroit has some of the most through nikkas, can’t judge off of one city
