Is it me, or are the Bears the media darlings of this year?

It seems like you can't turn on the TV without someone saying how they think the Bears are going to do great this year.

I ask, why? I know they got Marshall, but Forte coming off a legit injury, Urlacher is supposedly still struggling with knee problems. And Cutler is the king of inconsistency.

I just don't see the hype.

Only thing they've been missing is a legit #1 option at WR and they got it, their OL is kinda suspect from what I recall tho

Forte recovered a long time ago, I know that's not saying much but he was running hard at the Pro Bowl so I expect him to be back to 100 %

Cutler-Marshall connection is top 5 as far as QB-WR combo, these guys have legit chemistry

I expect Cutler to have a pro bowl year

Defense remains unchanged although those Urlacher reports are indeed a bit worrying

They still have one of the best special teams squad in the league

I can totally see the hype, if the o-line is somewhat performant, they definitely have championship potential

They were playing as well as anyone before Cutler got injured..Cutler was playing great..and that was with no o line and no wr's now add in Marshall and they now have weapons..

The thing that worries me is that D is getting old they might look like what the Steelers D looked like last year when everyone is over 30

I think people believe there defense is good because it's the Bears, but there defense really aint much at all, it actually aint shyt and it's old.

They were in the NFC Championship Game 18 months ago and have upgraded at WR

But their defense isn't as good and their o-line is suspect. Cutler played better last year though, he cut down on red zone INTs

But, the Norris belongs to the Packers

I think their defense is the weakness and playing Detroit/GB 4 times in a year is gonna hurt them.

There is too much strength in the NFC for the Bears to be very good in my opinion.

If cutler improves on last season and the o-line protects him then yeah they will be contenders! Martz is gone and cutler is happy about that.

I see them at about maybe 8 or 9 wins. I just don't know about Forte yet

yep, i think they made some solid moves but im not sold on a deep run. division is strong now no more automatic 4 wins against Minny and Det

their secondary worries me, Tillman is a nice player but they dont have anyone dominant back there

Secondary is very effective

they're not what they used to be, but saying their defense ain't shyt is you just as usual
