Im so glad my mom doesn't care about this shyt. I lucked out not having a high maintenance mom who wants constant recognition for being who she is. Dope asf. She's always like "yall do for me all year round. I dont need this day for validation."
Yesterday she was like, if we wanted to do anything, we could just get her some ribs because she had been craving ribs. And she wanted us to go yesterday because she knew it would be crowded today, so she was like, just go and get it out the way.

I hope my son wants to do something nice for me when he’s old enough but in general most holidays aren’t a “big deal” if you mean spending a lot or having to do something extravagant. I’m good with a nice meal, rest and quality time for holidays.
That said mothers do and go through a lot so I don’t have any objection to someone considering it important or a big deal to them.
