well the point of this thread is to show that black athletes make MILLIONS of dollars for the NBA as an example so being that is the case, their should be more league ownership than what there is at the current state. There should be MORE DIVERSITY with respect to the top executive positions in the NBA.

The system is designed to milk millions of dollars off the NBA player wth the owners benefitting the most and calling the shots.

This has to be explored in more detail and is something that is not often discussed because of racial bias.

The powers want to keep the status quo and nobody wants to challenge or even question the system that they help keep rich.

some cac on youtube on lebron james: "If you live in cleveland and work near quicken loans arena youre business has gone down a lot since he left so he decreased your salary by something he did personally, so you do have the right to hate him."

it does sound a bit like slavery when you have a bunch of angry racist cacs mad because half of their economy depended on one young black male. it will always remind me of slavery until there's more black team owners and executives.

a lot of these dudes just support the white supremacist infrastructure with their huge salaries. which is why more often than not, they end up poor less than decade after they're done. however, still can't feel sorry for these dudes; not in the least.

That's the same for every business around an arena.

That's why during the lockout you heard people talking about people that actually work at the arena hurting because they were losing work days.

If you work at the arena and the NBA season gets canceled that's 41 days you're not making money. Baseball 81, football 8.

Bars, restaurants, shopping centers make money when people go to watch the game. People eating/drinking before, during and after the game. People going shopping before the game starts, hanging out in the area.

A new big ass athletic store opened up across the street from the Nets new arena. You don't think they're happy as fukk Deron stayed? You don't think they're praying that Dwight comes because that means people are gonna come to watch the game beyond the initial :ld: "Brooklyn has a team, guess I'll check them out stage."

If Dirk was to leave and they weren't able to replace him with another star, Dallas would face a hit.

Guaranteed contracts.

LoL.... @ some of yall hurt because these players make millions of dollars playing a sport for a living and having fun.

Why be mad? Don't hate.. congradulate.

Some of yall want t make this a race issue?! :russ:

You don't realize how that first sentence makes the whole point of this thread completely fukking ridiculous? Are you familiar with the whole slavery thing? The only slight parallel to slavery you established is blacks working for whites. Then the last line of the post I quoted is "Some of y'all want to make this a race issue?!"....is this real life? :snoop:

You want one reason why there aren't as many blacks in ownership positions, not just in sports but in many fields....slavery. It kind of set us back 400 years. :comeon:

the DRAFT seems like a slave auction

Calling timeouts remind me of slavery.

Massa calls the workers around him and tells them what they're doing wrong and that they need to work harder and then he goes back to the comfort of his seat while they go back under the hot lights and do what the coach says.

...except that the NBA players receive compensation for their talents.

In a league that is predominatey black, in a league owned by predominately white owners where many players don't have a say as to which team they will ultimately end up playing for.

In a league where a player can be traded in an instant without notice or protest. Where owners can decided how much they are willing to pay for their slave.... I mean player. Teams can match prices, pay higher or many times even lower. Sometimes teams pay based on the player's experience and age, or based on certain skills where they players play for their massa... I mean for the NBA basketball clubs.

Sometimes the players have to uproot and leave their plantation... I mean basketball courts and go to another state with greener pastures many times or colder climates.

Interesting comparisions.... the real only difference is that player are rewarded millions for their hard work at entertaining the masses and has a choice in the matter but during slavery ofcourse this was not the case.

.....by the way, I'm black.... just want to hear if yall thoughts. Perhaps this might be an idea for a research paper at your local college.

I'm already getting ready for the :rudy: and :childplease: faces.

First of all I think you mean the NBA Draft. Second of all NO, Just NO. Whatever youre thinking NO. Third of all the players interview with every team thats interested so they do have very good knowledge of where they might be going, fourth of all I hope this wasnt some kind of "lets talk about slavery" thread so you could gain brownie points and fit in with the imbeciles on this site.

Y'all are MAD.

U critics are probably the same cats who were angry that Martin Luther King received a holiday.

All I said was that the NBA free agency reminds one of slavery NOT that it is slavery.

The truth hurts I understand... But hey ain't nothing wrong with being an NBA player... Jut be aware of the system they are playing in.
