Is it me or is this obsession with realism making games less enjoyable?

Dog battlefield 5 was annoying as hell because it.

just to climb over something it took 3 seconds then you gotta pull your gun up and by the time you do that you done got shot by 2 rockets and a pistol.

then reloading took forever as well. i dont wanna sit there and watch my soldier put 5 bullets in individually then have to cock the gun twice before i get back into action :scust:

then getting in and out of vehicles took forever and is stupid. nobody wants to watch a game they are playing they want to play.

then you got shyt like madden and all these animations that look like what you see when you watch the game. but the thing is it gets to the point where you are barely playing the game because one movement puts you into a dumbass animation you have to watch before you can do anything.

im running a bootleg and see the end is coming on the outside instead if letting me control the playing im using to try to avoid the sack i gotta watch this bullshyt happen. (and dont tell me to slide the line and all that other bullshyt cus i did it still did not stop it.)

the receivers is the most frustrating thing because instead of someone just catching the ball when they have the DB beat so you can run after the catch it goes into a dumbass animation every time.

whats that shyt called when you play games like spiderman and you gotta tap the button 1000 times when you’re lifting something heavy and you watch him lift it off the person? thats pretty much what games are becoming.

or am i just getting old?

My problem with RDR2

That has more to do with rigging and trying to simulate realistic movement rather than anything else. There’s a point of diminishing returns when you trying to make something in a game function how it does in real life, it makes it LOOK real but feel bad because your character has to go through the motions.

Non RDR example: Like, like you jump off a platform and you guys lands and hobbles and limps and rolls and then gets up. This is like a half a second in the game but repeated stuff like that starts to make the game feel tedious and slows it down. Where as a game where you just hit the ground and get to keep running makes the game feel better.

RDR made too many non-gamer sacrifice to create this feeling of realism that just bogged down teh entire experience.

The spider-man thing is something entirely different, it’s QuickTime events. It’s basically a way to keep the player engaged instead of just showing them a cutscene of the same thing

RDR is a great example of this because i bought that game was annoyed and got bored with it quick. beautiful game but having to ride your horse across the entire map and that motherfukker getting tired and shyt was annoying i got to the part where son was tracking the bear in the mountain then deleted that shyt lmao.

and the quick time event i asked about that cus in madden when you throw the ball to a receiver it you either press square x or triangle and it’ll trigger an animation. you use to have more control over the receiver when you threw em the ball. the last madden i played was madden 25, i remember being able to throw the ball deep to and either just running to the target and the receiver would run under it and catch it and keep running i could hold square and they would dive for the ball to catch it press triangle to jump for it and i think i could could a botton on the back plus trianlgle to try to catch it in tight spots. now theres no control and when you switch to the receiver your control isnt what it use to be. smh

I think the last Madden I played was like 2012, you’re saying the Receiver is 100% automated to run the route now even if you highlight them?

its one of those things that was cool at first in moderation but now developers are odee about it

if a game plays too much like real life its a dub, all that ultra realistic shyt is cool from a technology perspective to say that its possible but past a certain point its wild unnecessary and takes away from the fun

imagine how much more time consuming skyrim would have been if you had to see all the detailed ass animations of cooking food and eating it, and if you dont do that you drop dead just like real life

its not fully automated but you dont have full control so back then you could highlight the receiver and press triangle at any point and they will jump for the ball or reach for it whatever no matter how far you are from where the ball is headed. now the buttons i mentioned earlier are for possession catch run after catch and aggresive catch if you dont press the right one its gonna be intercepted cus the DBs have more right to the ball than receivers. its a bad mechanic

Imagine not knowing RDR has fast travel :dead:

@42 Monks is right, play better games. Y'all aggravated with realistic games but don't play fantasy or sci-fi shyt
nah thats not the point cus they can implement realism to the movement and shyt in those games as well and ruin it. they’ll do some dumbshyt like having to stop at fueling station in halo or some dumb shyt :russ:.

like imagine them making the next halo to where master chief actually feels like he has armor on when you move. thats the kind of thing im talking about.
