Is it necessary that I play Assassins Creed in order?

I want to go through the series. Advance apologies if this is a dumb question. I knew they are different stories, but some games its just better to go with the development of the series.

nah it doesnt matter, thats if you're not really going for the story, you can still understand it when playing it backwards as they explain the previous titles.

and the story/game goes into the next straight away if that makes sense

like you could play AC2 and they would show the end bit of AC1 going into 2, same for 3

the game is crap tho

man, I thought it was me, but I got bored of AC3. however, I loved AC2 cuz it was so piff. I already bought AC4 for PS4, so I'm not even gonna finish up AC3 and just go straight to the next gen version.

No it's not needed,
I never played AC1 and I'm probably the biggest AC fan boy on this site.
I played
AC2 (GOTY)
AC:Brotherhood (Better than AC2 )
AC: Revelations (boring and can be easily skippedd)
AC:3 hated on the internet, I personally really enjoyed it and beat it twice (once on PS3 and once on my girls Xbox)
AC4 is supposed to be really great even if you didn't like AC3 though.
I'd say you can hop right into AC4 if you want to you can find AC2 and brotherhood for cheap

Yeah, the 1st one was fukking terrible.

The 2nd one was great, I loved it. I also got the 3rd one, which was pretty good IMO.

Do you guys think I should get any of the other titles in the series?

The 1st was freaking terrible to me. They worked out all the problems and bugs on the second one tho and it made a great game IMO.

you should play AC1 just to sorta get an idea of whats going on and then play AC2 because it's actually a really good game and then not play the rest because the series is (AC1 kinda too) after AC2
