You didn't say that when you brought up acting.

You was talkin' 'bout mutes first:

Then you was talkin' 'bout acting like a deaf mute:

Now you talkin' 'bout what people sayin':

You're whole perspective on this issue arbitrary. You ain't stickin' to no one single topic to prove ya point.
Is you talkin' 'bout mutes or people actin' like mutes, or people actin' like they can't speak English 'cause OP is:

Mutes in the UK can use British Sign Language to communicate with other people in the UK who know British Sign Language.

Is your refrigerator running in that timeshare?

A lot of those people can speak English, they just choose to communicate with each other in their first language. I think this is about white people’s entitlement, and needing to know what everyone is talking about.
Nope, I've seen it firsthand. There are people who have lived in the US for years or decades but speak little to NO English.

Most of them live in community bubbles (neighborhoods where most or a significant percent of the people are from the same ethnicity or nationality as them).

Then you said:
there's people who are mute and can still live in any society so this seems arbitrary
Like mutes can live anywhere and function in any society without interacting with that society's language. Mute people can read.

Because if you had a point...
pointing out that mute and deaf people can communicate in ANOTHER WAY just proves my point ...do yall even think before trying so hard to clap back:mjlol:
You would have stated your point.

... 'bout to get this Armagnac out the freezer.

No, it should be common sense :skip: . In NYC you have people who've been in the country 15,20 plus years and can't speak more than 10 words in English...

yeah but those people aren't burdening anyone. they shop at stores and attend events that cater people like them. :manny:

│ Actually I lived abroad. Most of the American's living where I was didn't bother to learn the local language. They just clung together in their own community. We're humans, that's what we do. Not defending the employee's actions, if you're going to work here and deal with the public, speaking the common language is a given.

i've seen a number of youtube videos posted this to this forum of americans living in otehr countries for years but not knowing how to speak the local language.
