Everyone knows that hip hop albums get majority of the sales in the first week. Country Grammar only got 200K the first week, which isn't impressive at all. Meaning based on the quality of the music 8.3 million people decided it was good enough to buy. It's one of the best selling albums of the 2000s in any genre. Yet people pass this off as some negligible feat. How? How on a debut album from someone we had never heard of before is that so easily swatted down by people? You sell a million based on hype. You sell 2 million based on star status. You don't sell 8 fukking million as a black man because a couple white kids like your music
