Look back at PS3 graphics now and you will .
I agree we are closer to the asymptote of eventual photorealism than ever before, but we've still got quite a ways to go.
To really get there, we will need to shift paradigms. Additional polygons and higher-res textures just won't get the job done.

You think the shift to multiplayer games phased out the interest of single player where A.I usually shines? I thought Halo 1's A.I was pretty damn good at the time and I don't remember anything in recent memory that stood out like that. I do play a lot of corridor shooters though.

Most definitely. Games have become so expensive to make the developers dump resources into MP because it increases the longevity of their product and allows them to push out DLC.

Its the argument that even the best A.I cannot compete with human behavior.

Would take a huge IP with money to burn to shift the paradigm back. Don't see it happening though

man if you seen these gen games running on the best PC then you already know it CAN happen but you wouldn't be surprised these consoles are fake playing catch up little by little....if these nikkas wanted to give us high end PC graphics they could but we'd just end up paying PC prices for consoles....nikkas know the game by now man so either you gon roll wit consoles or you gonna stop waiting for these consoles to fake play catch up and just buy a PC

I havnt tweaked any settingsi n any PC game in close to 5 years, who does that shyt ? Games usually detect your hardware and base your settings around that. If they dont, then nvidia will do it for you.

The better graphics get, the more painstakingly long develop-time becomes. The focus needs to pivot to physics engines and AI for sure.

Battlefront better look like that on ps4.5, fukk that 4K bullshyt. I'd rather have pc graphics. That's why I keep saying they need a modable consoles so they can sell hardware upgrades without needing to release a new console

Anyway BF graphics are overrated as fukk. Environments are static as fukk. No destruction in the environments, no weather effects, no dynamic changes etc. Even less players than BF4.
