Is it time to admit Rick Ross will never make a classic?

It's safe to say he will never go platinum:yeshrug:

But every one of his albums has crazy replay value to this day :umad:

Port of Miami :takedat:

Trilla :ahh:

Teflon Don :whew:

Deeper Than Rap :ooh:

God Forgives I Don't :myman:

I don't like to call anything less than 5 years old a classic, but I can throw any of these shyts on and enjoy the next hour of my life :steviej:

I gotta agree with you here. But I don't think he's capable of releasing a classic, he always has and always will be a very solid rapper. He's above average.

I think Ross' main problem is that he oversaturates himself at times. I'm sure if took a year off instead of dropping MMG compilations he could've had a better album.

This is like saying is it time to admit Jamal Crawford will never lead a team to a title..it was never a question...get all the hype out of your head and be serious with yourself. Ross is good for what he is but he's not a great artist and doesn't even care to be.

I guess all those beats have you confused but I'm not

The way I see it, anyone is capable of dropping a classic because it isn't always about how good the music is necessarily. If he drops something that influences the game, changes its' direction, or sells a ton then yeah, that would qualify the album as a classic to me even if it's trash.

The chances of him dropping what I would consider to be a 'critical classic', as in an album everyone loves to the point where we can't help but give him props is like 5%

Honestly I think given time Teflon Don could mature into a classic -- Rozay was at the top of his spit game and he took more risks on that album. They paid off in my opinion :obama:
