After many arguments with my parents about whats going on now I realized a lot of boomer and early gen x are clueless to whats happening

they take on republican ideas and say "pick yourself up by the bootstraps" adjacent things all while voting for moderate status quo democrats

They voted in Bill Clinton who signed the 1994 crime bill and gave us 3 strikes laws, crack vs cocaine sentencing disparities which increased mass incarceration. Now they are going to vote for either Biden, who wrote the bill or Bloomberg who expanded stop and frisk.
