Is it true that in small towns, everybody knows everybody?

It’s actually 179k now that I check but it’s in Rhode Island and feels much much smaller than that

My mom’s family is from a small town of like 100k and by the time people hit their mid 20s, everybody has either met each other or knows of each other

I know this gone sound crazy to you but there are towns with only 6k people

50K population and below it’s a strong chance somebody either knows of you or heard of you unless you’re just a complete hermit…and people will STILL know of you

That’s wild. Being from NY anything around 100k sounds small to me. That’s like the size of a small neighborhood in Brooklyn
