Is it wrong to say people don't care about 9/11 anymore?

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
I'm 38. I was 17 on that day. I still remember it vividly.

But there is a generation of adults and teens who weren't even alive when it happened they don't see it the same way as us and those that were older during that time I can remember that chain of events on that day.

I've seen them make jokes and memes and art pieces about it and it's just weird to see how they're so disconnected from what we experienced on that day that it makes me realize they don't and won't see it the same way.
:yeshrug:

I don't even mean this to be disrespectful to anybody. Especially considering all the families of those that lost loved ones on that day and considering there's still people suffering injuries from inhaling dust and smoke at ground zero.

But yo...the atmosphere now during this day is different than it was 15 years ago. Or 10 years ago. Or 5 years ago.

It is what it is. Time has passed. 21 years is a long time.

I, like many, didn't care then, either. Still went to Spec's Music after school and bought The Blueprint

I was only 6 remember it because principal got on the PA announcing it & my teacher’s reaction turned serious/sad

Didnt understand the magnitude of the event and how it would affect life at that age, but now I do being older

Like brehs said, folks care but there’s a whole new generation out here now

For us OG's who are old enough to completely remember 9/11... that day changed the world forever.

How? Ordinary people had much more privacy prior to 9/11. The Patriot Act made it legal for the government to spy on us constantly to make sure we weren't "terrorists". If this were really true, how come they can't stop any of these mass shootings despite all the red flags beforehand?

It is obvious the Patriot Act has been abused because now mega corporations like Google are allowed to spy on us constantly. If you think otherwise at this stage, you are just plain stupid.

The only thing missing was a recreation of what supposedly went down in the cockpits.

The throats cut with the box cutters, the pilots dragged outta their seats, the cesna trained Arabs taking over midflight, gaining their bearings at 20,000 feet (all this happening in the constricted ass cockpit with a plane full of passengers just watching) and then redirecting those planes back into NYC airspace (and anyone who’s flown into NYC knows what I’m talking about) and hitting both towers, and the Pentagon - with the Pentagon hit being a maneuver some of the most highly trained fighter pilots in the world have said they couldn’t have pulled off.

I saw 9/11 when it happened and something in my spirit told me something wasn’t right. Then when the “official” story started coming out that same day I knew it was some bullshyt. shyt like the passport story, and I saw that live when they reported it, just let me know how truly stupid they know the American public is.

And they were right too.

Like you said, the younger generation doesn't care about 9/11

they were kids or not born yet

but 9/11 is an historic terrorist attack on US soil that changed a lot of things, not just New Yorkers, but the whole country

after 9/11 you couldn't bring shyt on commercial planes, and even though the terrorists pilots weren't Iraqis, we went to a pointless war against Iraq

9/11 also shook the American citizens sense of invincibility that we could be attacked on our own soil

Pearl Harbor doesn't count because it was World War 2, and Hawaii is not on the mainland of the United States

last but not least, 9/11 shouldn't be joked about and have memes now, 9/11 should never be joked about period
