Is it wrong to say people don't care about 9/11 anymore?

It's been knocked off the top by the other unfortunate circumstances we've had: COVID, Hurricane Katrina/Ike, 2008 recession, constant racial/political unrest (usually exploited by the media), etc.

It's kind of like Pearl Harbor.

I don't get sad about PH like I do 9/11.

Seeing 9/11 in real time was terrifying. Especially living in the capital of PA. I thought we could be next.

Never really felt anything more for it than any other tragedy. Too far away

there was a haunting video on reddit that played recordings of people leaving messages to loved ones on the hijacked planes. shyt is terrible

apparently there is a museum that plays recordings of the final minutes of the people on the hijacked planes as well

I didn’t feel like 9/11 was different than any other act of war back then

We recently buried a family mbr who died after 19 years of 9/11 complications (first responder) and that shyt hurts because this family mbr was great human being

Took the collective whole several years to see through bullshyt US foreign policy, colonization, illegal invasions (TF we did by invading Iraq instead of Saudi Arabia?), and the fukking rah-rah Freedom Fries shyt show.

I was in student government in college when 9/11 happened and some political science students wanted to bring Ward Churchill to campus to talk about how the US brought 9/11 on itself, but his views "were not in line with what the country needs." Later we saw his writings were accurate, although he was fired by Colorado University for academic misconduct later.

I remember. I was in 8th grade and it was :mindblown: watching the towers fall.

Even more :mindblown: that they TOLD people in the South Tower to go back to work.

Now that I'm an adult looking back on it, it just shows how greedy America is as a society. If those managers had any compassion, they would have shut the offices down for a day but nah, gotta make a buck by any means necessary even when a 757 is hanging out of the tower next to you.

Also what got me was how much dust and smoke was left afterwards. It felt like the entire city was smothered in it.

I left NYC a week before they hit, and headed back up state to college..yeah :flabbynsick:

Id say the thing that shocked me the most, was the issue was never discussed in class only briefly..school was closed for a week, we returned and it was like it had never happened.
My friend was studying at Pace in NYC, he said he could smell the dead bodies in the rubble :scust:

Gotta be pushing 30 to remember it vaguely
This I was in 6th grade and just turned 32 last week.

Teachers were acting weird...they brought in the TV with the booty in the back and joined the classrooms...so we watched a movie in the dark while most of the teachers and they kept going back and forth to what I assume they were watching the news.

They sent us home and I get home and the fukking towers collapsing is all over the news.

That day our Pakistani breh felt it..

His older brother and cousin who were cool and in high school got jumped when they were in Margate...(jersey people know about margate and ocean city..very :mjpls: ).

My mom had no answers..pops didn't either. I spent the day playing outside chilling at the green electrical box in our neighborhood...them youngins don't know about playing outside.

I remember riding on the Yellow to school on 9/11 heading to my first day of Pre-K....

I'll still pay my respects for those that died on that fateful day out of respect.

I’m more shook from that than 9/11

The way that whole event showed how the rich gave zero fukks about the poor. Disgusting.
I was watching the inquires a few months ago. Had a story about a family was told to stay in. When they could finally leave, one of their small kids got separated from the smoke and died. Horrible event
