not uncle tom but i do think that with the voice he has he can do more to promote black culture ie the significant figures throughout history that made it possible for him to achieve what he has. I hear names like sinatra and all these fashion designers (ex. rip to gianni) but not many blacks besides basquiat (who i do give him credit for biggin up)

I agree with everything OP said

An about oceans, u cant just b sayin things like what frankie said in that context, over some average beat like it was nothin. Idk i just dont like when people say shyt like that in a way that doesnt really make sense. It just doesnt work, the song was so average.

Hov is beyond uncle tom, hes obama status (no disrespect intended), as in hes dissociated from the black identity mentally.

I agree he could have went deeper on "Oceans," but the song makes perfect sense fam; whether it's actually good or not isn't the point. The point is the sentiment he has on the song. He associates with his blackness with a lot more regularity than Obama does - he uses race and his upbringing as the context for just about everything he raps about, even on his singles. Whether it's his actual race, or the conditions surrounding his race.

Calling Jay commercial, or other terms directly related to money, I can understand. But Uncle Tom goes a bit far, IMO
