It’s wild how much of a forgettable career he had

I can’t think of one memorable moment in his career outside the time he did the dougie during introductions :skip:

I know we tend to shyt on him, but shouts out to Paul George. nikka is the last skeleton of that draft. Buddy went through a wild injury not playing for his team that employed him at the moment, and he's still playing at a high level.

I’m sure some Wizards fans will look back fondly but he didn’t make much of a mark at all on the league
I blame Ted Leonsis for..

1. Not firing Grunfeld after gungate in 2010. A new GM should have picked Wall with the #1 pick. Would definitely have gotten to the ECFs a couple times in the last 10 years.

2. Not investing in basic stuff like leadership coaching for John right out of the gate.

And I blame John for getting sucked into the club lifestyle in the summers and not taking care of himself. He definitely had a higher ceiling to reach with his IQ and athleticism. Look at Brad Beal... he was literally a catch and shoot spot up guy and he maxed out to a 30 PPG scorer off the bounce which no one would have predicted.

He played for the wizards. Nobody will remember any of their stars.. Arenas, Wall, and Beal will be footnotes in NBA history. More of a function of the organization than an indictment on their careers (though Arenas and Wall had their primes cut short due to injuries).

As a NBA player it is. Especially when you factor in injuries and how long he's been playing.

Yup

There are 450 nba players
and out of those 450 only 65 are 32 and older and half of those dudes will prob be gone by next season

nba is a young mans game

even in terms of PG these are the only dudes in the league older than wall

only older pgs than john wall:

kyle lowry
chris paul
goran dragic
george hill
mike conley
steph curry
patty mills
pat beverley
derrick rose
ricky rubio
kemba walker
jrue holiday
