But it's always going to boil down to your preference.

It's kind of like Lebron. He checks off many boxes for being top 3 or top 5 of all time in basketball but there's still many NBA fans who prefer other players over him.

He has the resume - classic albums (plural), rap battle victory, dominated his era at multiple points, etc. But I haven't really thought about his placement to be honest. Same way I don't think about Cole's placement, although his resume is inferior. Both are still in the game, putting points on the board. Before bowing out of that battle I was arguing Cole was moving up lists because he's getting better as a rapper and has dropped better albums as he's gone on. Now I'm in limbo about him, but if the next album is dope I'll feel more comfortable about him. Not as in "top 5" comfortable, I'm just generally talking about being on the list somewhere.

All time? I always felt like that should automatically go to influential og’s (Rakim, Nas, etc.)

It feels weird moving the og’s out the way. It’s gonna be even harder when some of them start passing away. But one day we might have to consider making room for newer artists

you should already be making room.....some people have the hardest time accepting that "pioneers" dont automatically equate to Top 5-10 all time

I like Kendrick and in regards to success he will be. But no he is not even close to my personal top 5. shyt I’m from Atlanta and I got 3 members of wu-tang higher than him (ghost, Rae, and of course method man . None of them in my top 10 either . I got all his cds too so I’m really not hating at all.
