Is Kenny Omega a bigger draw than Sting? Davy Smeltzer seems to be hinting so

Dave has a long standing anti-Sting bias for reasons I've never really comprehended. When it comes to him, it seems as if he'll hold him to standards he would never hold anyone else to.

For instance, he constantly blasted him for not drawing as the top guy (in WCW, where questions of who was or was not a draw was largely taken out of your hands if your name wasn't Ric Flair or Dusty Rhodes) and refused to vote him into the WON Hall of Fame, but put Chris Jericho in, a man who has never ever been a true draw as the top guy (remember, at one point Vince thought his Undisputed title run was the worst he'd ever presided over). It just seemed as if he wanted to justify why he didn't want to put in someone he never rated as a worker.

If he is insinuating that Omega draws better than Sting historically, then we can definitely put this in the "Dave's lost his mind" file. Kenny hasn't even had the CHANCE to succeed or fail on the level of Sting.

AEW/Elite's ability to do this was because in part the gimmick that it hadnt been done since WCW folded and had galvanize marketed on social media

Who knows if TNA would have had the foresight to do something that unique and thus make people realize who was there old and new

@puppetmaster

You gonna stand for this? :mjlit:

Meltzer is weirder than some of the cats here are about Sting and that’s saying something

As I’ve stated many times NO ONE in history I would have drawn in WCW in the era Dave loves to place all on Sting

The company didn’t even know how to do merch properly which is a big measurement of “a draw”

Try to find a solid upper midcarder WCW tee on eBay right now from WCW in the late 80’s/early 90’s

then look up WWF

Ric Flair who was an active talent which is typically a bad idea to then make him a booker, Jim Herd, Ole, Bill Watts as bookers figureheads. Dave never considers this. It’s just “Sting was never a draw” it’s entertaining at this point

I don’t wanna diss Kenny Omega to big up Sting but I will say lets let Kenny make it 30 years and see if he’s mentioned and remembered in the same light.
